A Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, has disowned the presidential posters indicating that he is seeking the presidential ticket of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019 general elections.
A close Political Associates of the Governor Alhaji Bashir Bukar Rimin Zayam disclosed this yesterday while briefing newsmen in Bauchi , He said we have witnessed the development going on in the State where some people pasted the Posters of Governor Dankwambo for President 2019, and we discussed with all that matters Stake holders and close associates and the Governor made it clear that he had not authorized anyone to produce any campaign posters in his name or displayed it across the Bauchi state and other states in Nigeria.
He said “The said posters, which have the photograph of His Excellency, the Governor of Gombe State, was pasted by many supports groups in many streets of Bauchi State including bill boards and radio Political Programmes calling on the Governor to contest the 2019 Presidential election.’
Bashir said the Governor appreciated the desire of his supporters whose interest is to woe him to contest for Presidential ticket, the Governor as a law abiding citizen of Nigeria knows that it’s not yet electioneering campaign time, and he is not seeking for any political office for now, he is committed to complete the mandate given to him by the people of Gombe State.
He said the Governor appreciated the wishes and aspirations of these Nigerians and urged them to pray him and help him to choose a Political Position that he will contest after he completed his tenure as Gombe State Governor.
Bashir said anytime the Governor decided to contest for any position he will makes it known and urged all his supporters to continue to pray for the best for the Governor and for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as all Power belongs to God.
