The Edo State Coalition of Libya Returnees has thrown its weights behind Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration and the All Progressives Congress ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
In a statement made available to journalist s in Benin city and signed by , the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Anti Human Trafficking ,Comrade Solomon Okoduwa , said they will vote massively for the party.
Okoduwa stated that, ‘ the returnees who have over 20,000 voters across the state will support the governor’s determination to marshal one million votes to President Muhammadu Buhari second term bid.’
According to the special adviser,
‘ the returnees resolve to support the governor and all the APC candidates during the 2019 polls is occasioned to his superlative record, according to him, “It’s Obaseki’s administration that obliterated the human traffickers cartel and has come up with a comprehensive blue print to end the menace of illegal migration and human trafficking by providing re-integration and empowerment packages for Edo State extraction of Libya returnees.”
Also speaking , the leader of the coalition, Tony jimoh said, “Obaseki’s administration is a government that looks beyond party lines. He is a man with focus, intelligent and people oriented Governor. We will be unfair to him if at this time we refuse to join forces with him. So for us, we have resolved to ensure we work with him to deliver all APC candidates in all the three senatorial district.”
Another returnee, Lucky Eghianruwa who corroborated the views of Tony Jimoh assured of their total support.
He said, “We are going to mobilise our families, friends and relations to vote and deliver all the candidates of APC in Edo State.
“We have what it takes to convince our supporters to vote for the working Governor. He concluded.
