Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara state have been urged to close ranks and sink their differences ahead of the 2023 general elections in order to maintain the 2019 winning streak when the party won all contested positions.

The admonition was given on Monday in Ilorin, the state capital, by the new Kwara state Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa (BOB), while swearing in other executive members at state, local and ward levels.

Bolarinwa, who recalled that at the onset, the party in the state had every reason to implode, commended party members for putting aside their differences which culminated in the historic victory of the party in the state, adding that the electoral victory would remain a reference point in the annals of elections in Nigeria.

He said: “With the dissolution of the party structures at all levels and eventual constitution and inauguration of states’ Caretaker Chairmen by the National Caretaker Chairman, we have lost our hitherto divisive personalities and put on a new garb of party men and women whose mantra is to promote party unity and cohesion.

“This is the time to be forward looking as we will soon approach another election. We cannot afford to do so as a divided house. We cannot afford to betray the trust reposed in us by Kwarans on 2019.”

Abolarinwa charged them to be aggressive and dogged in the new membership drive of the party ahead of preparation for the registration and revalidation of of party membership.

In the same vein, he charged them to mobilise for full participation of APC members in the state ahead of the Independent National Electoral Commission’s commencement of voter registration in the new year so that it can translate to another electoral victory for the party.

While congratulating the Caretaker Committee Members, he lauded members of the party for their patience, understanding and loyalty to the party.
