Comrade Aremu, added that the President had shown commitment to the plight of workers especially with the approval of the new national minimum wage and his ideological policy in the fight against corruption which are parts of what labour party stands for.

The foremost labour Unionist said Buhari has shown capacity to the sensitiveness of the workers, pointing out that this made the party to throw its weight behind the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Comrade Aremu, however disclosed that over one point three million members of state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Tailors and faith based organizations had pledged to cast their votes for him and President Buhari during the forthcoming general elections.

Certainly President Buhari has been widely endorsed on account of his integrity and frontal fight against corruption. Ours is a practical appreciation, solidarity and support with the President who despite opposition by some governors remained steadfast in setting up the tripartite minimum wage committee, in respecting the outcome of negotiated N30,000 and who kindly thought outside the box to give bail out to the governors who claimed inability to pay salaries” Comrade Aremu said.

Comrade Aremu said being a working class party, improvement in minimum and living wage was what he called “total ideological commitment” for the Labour Party adding that President Buhari has also demonstrated commitment to expand the base of the National assets rather than privatization and personalization of public wealth as practiced by PDP government in Kwara state and favored by PDP policies.

Comrade Aremu who doubles as the Vice President of the IndustriAll Global Union with headquarters in Geneva, with over 50 million members, said labour party is the only political party with wider coverage of membership across both public and private organizations who had stakes in next elections because of the urgent need for job creations and eradication of income poverty.

The Governorship hopeful, who is the General Secretary of the National Union of Textile, Garment and Tailoring Workers of Nigeria, urged hundreds of thousands of the tailors in the state to vote for President Buhari who he said through labour market friendly policies epitomized what he called Labour Party manifesto on good governance.
