Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak’s administration would leave no stone unturned to ensure it bequeathed a legacy, at the expiration of its tenure, that could stand the test of time in all spheres of human endeavour for the benefits of the people of Kwara state.
The State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, who stated this today in Ilorin at the 2019 Graduation ceremony of Reomichs International Schools, explained that the present administration would intervene in key sectors such as education, health, road, water among others, in its bid to make life meaningful for the citizenry, adding that education is the bedrock of the development of the State and the Nation hence the attention being accorded the sector.
“It is the realisation of this fact that informed our commitment to the enhancement of the sector with the recent visit of the Executive Governor, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to various educational institutions to obtain first hand information with a view to hitting the ground running”, he stressed.
Alabi, who emphasised the determination of the administration to boost the educational sector to add value to the life of the people, admonished the youth to imbibe the moral teachings received from home and the four walls of the classroom to build a good home and society, and to focus on their academic pursuits and work towards achieving their goals.
In his keynote address, the Guest Speaker, Engineer Adeniyi Saheed Aremu, who quoted statistics from UNICEF said children under 15 years accounted for 45% of the Nation’s population, lamenting that about 10.5 million are out of school. He, therefore, charged parents to be alive to their responsibilities by ensuring that their children are developed morally, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Earlier in his address, the Principal of the School, Mr Kevin Massey reiterated the determination of the Institution to produce high quality graduates to meet the modern needs of the society.
