Air Force Commissions Houses, Other Projects At Bauchi Base

The Nigeria Air Force has commissioned projects at their newly established base in Bauchi.

The projects commissioned include an office complex of the Special Operations Command, the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) resident and some other senior officers housing units.

Speaking during the ‎commissioning, the chief Of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar represented by the Air Officer Commanding (AOC) Special Operations Command, Air vice Marshal‎, Isma’ila Sadiq Kaita reiterated the commitment of the Nigeria Air Force towards the welfare of its personnel to help in discharging their constitutional responsibilities.

“Thus, all our efforts at repositioning the NAF for better efficiency and effectiveness are pivoted on capacity building initiatives and better personnel welfare.

“This is predicated on the fact that only an airforce with well trained personnel, equipment and motivation would be capable of fulfilling its assigned roles”, he said.

According to him, the NAF has continued to embark on an aggressive robust and result oriented training, prudent management of resources, logistics support and better maintenance culture to sustain its successes.

In his welcome address, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Vice Marshal Isma’il Sadiq Kaita said that the security landscape in the country and the challenges it poses to national security requires an effective and rapid deployment of Air Power.

Kaita who was represented by the Senior Air Staff Officer‎ Special Operations, Air vice Marshal, Remedius N. Ekeh‎ noted that improving personnel welfare will raise their morale to respond to national security imperatives.

“These projects include the newly constructed and fully furnished Headquarters, Special Operations Command office complex, the‎ AOC’s official residence and 10 2 bedroom semi-detached flats with BQs for PSOs of HQ SOC.

“This provision of a conducive office space and additional accommodation would go a long way in further ameliorating the shortage of officers residential quarters on base”, he added.
