APC Government Should Learn From Legacies of First and Second Republics – Bukar

By Sule Aliyu, Bauchi

All Progressive Congress APC led federal government has been urged to learn and emulate the legacies of first and second republic leaders in the way they are leading the country in order to address basic challenges bedeviling common man.

A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Alhaji Bashir Bukar Rimin Zayam in Bauchi stated this while answering question from newsmen on the 57th independence anniversary.

He said “confusion, hatred, conflicts bedeviling the APC could be addressed if they emulate the leadership style of leaders in the first and second republics.”

“They have to listen to their followers, know their problems, empower them, address them, respect anybody that contribute to the success of the administration, bring them close, by doing so they will march forward, they will understand the problems and they will receive constructive criticisms that will help them to govern the country well”, he said.

Bukar said he is still in PDP and he believe in whatever comes from God, but rampant traveling within and outside the country  by Governors, intra party conflicts across all APC controlled states, Governors’, arrogance, slow in delivering dividends of democracy will not help them.

He advised President Muhammadu Buhari and APC state Governors to do more for the electorates because according to him, “time is going, they should correct their past mistakes and do more for the electorates for the development of the country”.

The soft spoken politician advised Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El Rufa’I to apologize to the people of Katsina State and Nigeria over his nasty comments against late President Yar’adua and explained that the comments was unfortunate and advised him to desist from making such comments on the leaders.

On the state of the nation, Bukar said the country had witnessed some agitations with potential of undermining the unity and relationship across the ethnic and religious divides and advised all citizens to avoid violence and uphold peaceful coexistence to be their brother’s keepers for the development of the country.

He said “we have to make selfless sacrifices for the benefit of our neighbours and indeed the progress of the country, together with our leaders we most work hard to make Nigeria better.”
