President Muhammadu Buhari has reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing security, building the economy and fighting corruption headlong.
President Buhari said this on Monday at the All Progressives Congress presidential campaign to Kwara State, held at the metropolitan square, Ilorin, the state capital.
The President noted that Nigerians had been witnessing the achievements of his government in the areas of security, infrastructure and anti corruption, among others, and sought the support of the people of Kwara state by giving him their mandate in the Saturday’s presidential election.
While presenting APC flag to the Governorship candidate of the party in the state, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, said the mammoth crowd and warm reception they received in the state was a clear manifestation that the people of Kwara state are ready for freedom and liberation.
Comrade Oshiomole who said the time of oppressor is over in the state, believed that the state is in the hand of good hand with the emergence of Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq as the next governor of the state.
According to him, the President is radical in changing Nigeria and taking the country’s resources in the hands of few people and giving it back to the people.
Also speaking, the National Leader of tBy Party, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, said they are not in Kwara state to fight the late Olusola Saraki family but they are here to relinquish power from the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, pointing out that one of the children of the late Political ICON and a one time Senator, Gbemisola Saraki is with them in the party.
Asiwaju Tinubu who said they are freedom fighters, described today’s presidential campaign to the state as the celebration of the freedom of Kwara, the fallen of Berlin world and the end to the oligarchy.
He urged the people of the state to use their in depth finger to thumb print and allow it to dry before folding the ballot paper.
On his part, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, highlighted some of the achievements of the All Progressives Congress led federal government in Kwara state, especially the dualizatuon of Ilorin-jebba road, ongoing construction of Michael Imoudu-Ganmo road, Offa-Erinle-Osun boundary road, Ilorin-Ajadepo-Offa road,
rehabilitation of Ohan bridge, patigi -Pada road, Ilorin- kabba road, among others.
While addressing the party supporters after receiving the APC Flag , the Governorship candidate of the party, Alhaji AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq said he had toured round all the sixteen local governments and discovered that there was infrastructure decay in public schools, promising to build more schools and provide necessary facilities to reposition the education sector.
The campaign which was held within an hour was attended by thousands of APC supporters and loyalists of President Buhari including, the Ministers of Transportation, Rotimi Ameachi, Interior, AbdulRahman Danbazau, Senator Adamu Abdullahi, Gbemi Saraki, former ministers, former governor of osun state, ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, Lukman Mustapha and other former governorship aspirants of the party in the state.
