AYJER Commends PMB on sustaining Amnesty program

Association of youth for justice and equal rights AYJER, has commended the concerted efforts’ of President Buhari at sustaining the Amnesty program rather than scrapping it.

In a press statement, the President of the group,  Julius Motajo noted that the activities of the program has encouraged the development of human capital projects which has brought peace to the region and self sustaining.

According to AYJER, the appointment of Prof Charles Dokubo was a welcome development but he must be encouraged to align with the aspirations of the people, adding that the next level appointment will correct the irregularities in the amnesty program, leading it back to the original reason for its creation.

While lamenting on a recent publication from an online platform seeking to undermine the activities of the program, the group president noted that since the creation of the program, it has been under the watchful eyes off discerning minds from the region and must not be used as an avenue to siphon money and fraudulent practises.

He stated that the ongoing war between the Coordinator Prof Dokubo and his Director of Finance Mr Ilem Iyam Ukam on alledged N4.8billion cash out from the organisations purse, does not align with the anti-corruption crusade of President Buhari.

He added that the DIF, Ilem has decried that there has been series of attempt to assassinate him, therefore calling on PMB on place a search light on the activities at the amnesty program.

Motajo also stated that some positions in the amnesty program was occupied by incompetent people, as he urged the presidency to ensure that competent and credible persons are encouraged to continue effective service delivery.

While commending Mr Ilem, DIF for standing for the truth and opposing shady corrupt practises in the organisation,  he added that the Mr Ilem must be applauded for his upright and credible role of exposing irregularities within the commission, noting that his actions was very rare in Nigeria of today.

He however stated that the DIF must be allowed to continue his good work, his job must not be taken away from him, Nigerians need more people like him and AYJER in Nigeria and Diaspora is set to confer an honorary award on him.
