Baraje Hails CCT Verdict On Saraki

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and former Acting Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, has hailed the Code of Conduct Tribunal’s (CCT) judgement on false assets declaration allegation leveled against the Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki.

He said the outcome of Saraki’s trial by CCT did not come as a surprise, because it was a mere political persecution.

Baraje said Saraki’s vindication has renewed the people’s confidence in the country’s judiciary system.

A statement from the media office of the APC Chieftain, said, “this is the celebration of hopes to Nigerian citizens especially the innocent people.”

Baraje said despite the politically motivated trial to cause distractions for the 8th Senate under the leadership of Saraki, the Senate has achieved so much in the last two years through legislation and passage of bills that are crucial to the development of the country.

He, therefore, congratulated the Senate President on his victory at the CCT and sued for the support of Nigerians for the National Assembly to enable the lawmakers’ fast track the development of the country.

The APC chieftain called for unity among the people of Kwara state, irrespective of political or religious leanings.

He also advocated a cordial working relationship among the three arms of government towards realising the campaign promises of the APC- led administration.
