Bauchi Gov’t Promises Official Vehicles to PermSecs

Plan is under way by the Bauchi State government to give official cars to the over 20 permanent secretaries under its various ministries, departments and agencies in the state.

The state Head Of Service [HOS] Alhaji Liman Bello stated this on Friday during a civic reception organized by the state civil servants to rejoice with him over his recent conferment with an honourary doctorate degree by the Commonwealth University in Dubai, United Arabs Emirate [UAE].

According to him, although there was paucity of funds, the government was making efforts to purchase and distribute official vehicles to the permanent secretaries as a way of motivating them and easing their mobility.

He however challenged the permanent secretaries to be prudent and diligent in the discharge of their duties at the different MDAs being overseen by them in order to make civil service more vibrant, responsive and efficient in the state.

Earlier, the permanent secretary general administration in the office of the head civil service Musa Wadata explained that the reception was organized by the civil servants to reciprocate his many policies aimed at reforming the civil service in the state and improving workers’ welfare.

In his remarks, the state chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress [NLC] Comrade Hashimu Gital represented by Abdullahi Ibrahim who felicitated with Bello over the award said there was no rancor between the head of service and the union since his appointment by the state governor in 2016.

He urged the HOS to sustain the harmonious relationship with the organized labour for the progress of the state.
