Bauchi SWAN Elects new Exco

The Bauchi State Chapter of the Sports writers Association of Nigeria SWAN has elected and inaugurated new executive members that will run the affairs of the association for the period of three years.

The election which took place at NUJ Secretariat, Bauchi has been described as free and fair SWAN Election.

Inaugurating the newly elected executives’ members, the National Zonal Vice President of SWAN, Alh Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo congratulated them for emerging unopposed and urged them to carry everybody along.

Abubakar Sadiq Moyoyo also urged the new exco to work towards addressing all the differences among members in the Bauchi chapter of the Association.

Those elected are Alhaji Nasiru Abdullahi Kobi chairman, Bala Usman Kurba Vice chairman, Muhmud Yakubu Secretary, Bala Bawaje Kwankiyel Assistant Secretary, Umar Ahmad Rufa’i Treasurer, and Selya Yarnap Financial Secretary respectively.

In a massage through the Deputy Natioal President of SWAN, Alh Umar Saidu, The President, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr Honour Sirawoo said the  Association is proud of Bauchi state chapter of SWAN, particularly for it contribution to sports journalism.

The SWAN national President call on the new executives to ensure that members of the Association in the State participate fully in the ongoing online SWAN registration exercise as according is the only way of retaining their membership.

While congratulating the new Exco for coming on board the SWAN national president promised the supports and cooperation of the SWAN national headquarter.

The Bauchi state chairman NUJ, Alh Ibrahim Muhammad Malam Goje who also witnessed the inaugurating ceremony while congratulating the new executives of Bauchi SWAN offered a new office accommodation at the NUJ, Bauchi Secretariat free of charge to the new SWAN Exco for smooth operation of SWAN activities in Bauchi state

In his acceptance speech the new chairman of Bauchi SWAN Alh. Nasiru Kobi promised to justify the confidence repose in him.

Kobi who thanks members for given him another mandate, call for continue supports so as to move the association forwards in the state in particular and the country in general

Speaking the electoral committee chairman Alh.Isa Hassan Jarawa described the election as free and fair and thanks all those who contributed in making it a successful one

Other stake holders who spoke at the event call for continue unity among members and hard working from the side of the newly inaugurated exco so as to forge the association ahead.
