Be Proactive, Professional – AIG Tells His Men

The Assistant Inspector General of Police, zone 5 headquarters   Benin City, AIG Abubakar Adamu Mohammed, has charged Squadron Commanders within the zone to be proactive and professional in the discharge of their duties.

Abubakar gave the advice in Benin City, when he addressed the Commanders in various Police Security Mobile Squadrons and other tactical units within the zone.

He stressed, “the needs for Commanders to ensure they complement the efforts of Conventional Policemen in the quest of ridding the zone from all forms of crimes and criminalities.”

AIG Abubakar further, directed that in the new strategies, emphasis should be placed on the border towns, communities, linking roads and major highways to ensure adequate security of lives and property.

He emphasizes the need for Commanders, “to always lecture their personal to key into “change begins with me.” 

He warned against, “corrupt practices, extortion, illegal duties, misuse of firearms and road blocks amongst others.”

He said the new and robust strategies were adopted to curtail the criminal activities, such as armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, vandalism, herdsmen and farmers clashes.

Those present at the meeting were Squadron Commanders of  30 PMF Asaba, 51 PMF Oghara, Special  Protection  Unit (SPU) Base 5 Benin and 5PMF Benin, while others were representatives of Counter Terrorist  Unit ( CTU) Base  Warri and 60 PMF Iyamho .
