Kwara State Abdulrahman Abdulrazak has approved payment of the outstanding sum of N10m owed the contractor handling the construction of the Coca-Cola bridge project.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport Dr. Yusuf Garba Manjo, who disclosed this during an assessment visit to the project, expressed satisfaction with the two transition slabs to the Bridge

He, however, urged the contractor to expedite action on the project in order to allow vehicular movement on the bridge.

The Permanent Secretary also implored the contractor on the need to maintain quality standard in the ongoing stone pitching, rep rapping and the approach road work to the bridge

Responding, the contractor, Mr Alaco , of Alaco Construction Company, confirmed the receipt of the approved payment of N10m and assured that the project would be completed according to specification and on schedule

The contractor, who had abandoned the project since 2018, returned to site following an executive order through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Transport, after warning the contractor to return to site in July or risk termination of the contract.
