Council boss lauds NAF on fight against banditry

Alhaji Garba Randagi, the Chairman of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, has lauded the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) for its efforts against cattle rustling and banditry in the area.

Randagi gave the commendation in an interview with our correspondent on Tuesday in Kaduna.

The chairman noted that the council had witnessed improved security with the coming of the Air Force, especially with the hovering of its aircraft over the area.

“My assessment of the 271 NAF Detachment is so positive,’’ he said, and commended the Federal Government for the deployment of the military in the area.

Randagi pledged to collaborate with the Air Force and other security agencies in the area in checking banditry and other forms of criminality.

Our correspondent reports that the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, on Monday inaugurated one block of 20 rooms at 271 NAF Detachment in Birnin Gwari.

Abubakar had pledged to increase troops in the detachment to 600.
