ECOBANK Sacks 5 Directors For Fraud

Management of EcoBank Transnational International ETI, has sacked five of its Directors in Nigeria in charge of transport section for their roles in manipulating the process that in the auction of ECOBANK serviceable Vehicles meant for Staff within the Bank.
Our sources within the PAN African Bank confided in nationalTRAIL that the Directors, whose names were not immediately available, were accused of acting against the professed integrity by the management by using their proxies and contracts staff to bid for the Vehicles.
The exercise was cancelled barely 24 hours to commencement when whistle blowers and mystery shoppers familiar with the transactions alerted the Managing Director Mr Charles Kie who immediately ordered for the sack of the Directors.
“What they did was to spread out monies through their proxies to bid for the cars and having knowledge of the process where other staffs are bidding for 200,000 for a car they were bidding for as higher as 500,000. The Managing Director, Mr. Kie has always encouraged whistle blowers in the Bank when the information got to him, he ordered for the cancellation of the exercise and the investigation of the Directors and within 24 hours they were relieved of their jobs” our source said.
nationalTRAIL reliably gathered that that affected Directors through one John Agbo had approach Sanusi Lamido , the Emir of Kano to intervene in the scandal but the Kenyan born former Group Executive Director Corporate Affairs, Mr Kie known for his no nonsense posture had directed the Directors to leave the Bank.
