Edo PDP Chairman Recounts Ordeal in EFCC Den

The Edo State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih has lamented his ordeal in the hands of operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Port-Harcourt office, over alleged campaign funds.
The money was released by the National Headquarters of the Party for the re-election bid of Former President Goodluck Jonathan, saying the money made available to him on behalf of the party was judiciously used to the satisfaction of the else while president.
Orbih who disclosed that the invitation by the EFCC to him and other staunch members of the PDP including a front line governorship aspirant was to clarify some issues bothering on the party campaign funds released to the state chapter of the party during the 2015 elections.
Speaking at a press briefing yesterday in Benin City, Orbih in onslaught on the APC rose alarm what he described as the non-adherence of due process in contracts awarded by the state governor, Adams Oshiomhole.
Orbih who said, “For us in PDP Edo state, we have observed with great concern the Governor approval for unbudgeted contracts approved by Adams Oshiomhole in respect of the University of Science and Technology at Iyamho.
Orbih who alleged that the contracts awarded were not advertised nor was there competitive bidding said, “ Construction of Senate Building, Edo State Teaching Hospital Complex and a Faculty building, all at the Edo University of Science and technology at Iyamho was awarded at an outrageous costs without due process followed by way of advertisement or Tender Bidding process .”
The alleged amounts by the state PDP Chairman for the execution of the projects at the Edo University of Science and Technology by the Edo state government could not be confirmed as at the time of filing this report.
He said the N700 million from received by the state chapter of the party was used satisfactorily to fund the campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan, denying any knowledge of the source of the fund,just as he insisting that, “however the EFCC was simple and professional in
