The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said it has intercepted bags containing N49 million cash at Kaduna Airport.
The anti-graft agency was said to have made the interception at the airport yesterday.
It will be recalled that the Kaduna Airport became the diversion point for flights scheduled for Abuja Airport due to the repair work going on there.
The repair work at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja is expected to last for six weeks.
As at press time, the owner of the cash has not been named.
It would be recalled that a few weeks ago, the EFCC recovered $9.8million in cash from a secret bunker owned by Dr. Andrew Yakubu who is a former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
