President Muhamnadu Buhari has assured the Nigerian Army of Hus administration’s commitment to the promotion of education amongst the rank and file as well as the civilian population .
Speaking at the Ground Breaking and Foundation laying of the Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno state today, the President said he is committed to building an enlightened and well educated Armed Forces for the country.
According to the President who was represented by the Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, the new Army University provides a serene rendezvous for Military and Civilian cohabitation and research.
While congratulating the Chief of Army Staff, KT. General Tukur Buratai for spearheading the establishment of the unique institution, President Buhari charged those vested with the responsibility of running the school to work towards setting standards for the Army University that could prompt her into global competitiveness.
He said the people of Biu are lucky to host Nigeria’s premier Army university and should take advantage if it and collaborate in nurturing the school.
Our correspondent who covered the event reports that the ground breaking ceremony was a huge success having attracted the creme De LA creme of the the country”s academia, state governors, including that if Borno and Gombe states as well as traditional rulers.
The President”s representative along with Borno state Governor, Kashim Shettima were also at the palace of the emir if Biu, Alhaji Umar Mustapha Aliyu, where he furthered assured the Royal father of the Federal Government commitment to ensure the Nigerian Army University, Biu has come to stay.
