Governor Abubakar Football Trophy Match Kicks-off in Bauchi

Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar Football Trophy to be competed among youths’ football clubs in Bauchi state has  on weekend simultaneously kicked-off in three senatorial district of the state.
The formal kick-off of the competition took place at Games Village football pitch performed by the representative of the governor and Special Adviser on Assembly Liaison, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa  Matori.
Heralding the competition at the Games Village, the Special Adviser reiterated the state government’s commitment to revive the decades and abandoned event of youths football match in the state.
Alhaji Matori observed that the competition will not only promote the game of football, but will also go a long way in promoting unity among youths, and by extension the people of the state.

Organized by the Office of Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim popularly known as  (Dan Yusufulle), the three-week long football competition is also geared to hunt talents in the sporting event.
Speaking at the kick-off ceremony the organizer of the competition, Alhaji Yusuf Ibrahim assured that his office will continue to organizer such event towards boosting sports in the state, Dan Yusufulle, who noted that the competition will not only promote unity among youths, but will also serve as a tool for harmonious co-existence among the diverse people of Bauchi state.
He assured youths that his office will do everything humanly possible to curb them from idleness, engaging in social vices or political thuggery.

The Saturday’s match at the Games Village between Green Pillars and Halsers football club ended in 2 – 1 in favour of Haslers.
