Fifteen thousand-member Kwara State Joint Tricycle Association has joined other well-meaning Kwarans in endorsing the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for his Kwara South Senatorial ambition.
At a solidarity rally to Government House, Ilorin, on Friday, Chairman of the Association, Prince Duro Oyebade, who led other members of the 16 tricyclist associations, emphasised that they were solidly behind the governor in accomplishing his senatorial ambition.
Oyebade who spoke on behalf of the associations also promised to work assiduously to ensure the emergence of the Governor as the next senator to represent Kwara South senatorial district.
The association praised the Governor for his various masses-oriented projects like affordable SME Scheme and the purchase of 250 tricycles for its members and stressed that the governor deserves the senatorial seat for a better representation.
According to him, “All members of our sixteen tricycle associations fully identified with you and your ambition to represent the good people of Kwara South senatorial district and we have resolved to work towards the actualisation of your ambition.”
In his response, Governor Ahmed expressed gratitude to the associations for the endorsement of his quest to becoming a Senator and also solicited the association’s support for the presidential ambition of Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki.
Governor Ahmed pledged to continue implementation of masses oriented projects till the expiration of his tenure, emphasising that all on-going projects would be carried to fruition.
