A three compartment toilet facility built by the Founder of Baraje Center for Arabic and Islamic studies, Gerewu in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, for residents of Idi- Ose Compound, Adabata, Ilorin has been commissioned.

The facility, which contains modern toilet facilities, is Baraje’s modest contribution and assistance to residents of the area in order to prevent them from defecating in the open or nearby bushes.

Alhaji Baraje, who was represented at the event by a very close associate, Alhaji Raheem Olesin, promised to construct more of such structures in areas where they are in need as part of his own contribution to give back humanitarian services to the society.

The donor, who is a Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), expressed concern that most compounds in Ilorin Emirate lack toilet facilities, a development, he noted, was not too healthy for such residents as open defecation could eventually lead to an outbreak of epidemic.

Alhaji Baraje has, therefore, appealed to the beneficiaries to make proper use of the facility.

Responding on behalf of the benefitting residents, Alhaji Isiaka Iyanda Adafila who facilitated the project, commended Alhaji Baraje for coming to their aid by constructing the toilet, promising that they would make proper use of it.

According to him, the facility would stop the practice whereby people, particularly the young ones in the area, defecate in the open or nearby bushes where they do not only expose themselves to epidemic diseases but also other dangers
