Kwara Dep Gov cautions Nigerians on drugs abuse

Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi, has admonished Nigerians, especially youths, to shun drugs abuse so as to build an egalitrian society.

Giving the admonition on Tuesday while inspecting the Ibrahim Sulu Gambari Drugs Abuse Rehabilitation Centre, Akerebiaka, Ilorin, the Deputy Governor lamented that drugs abuse had adversely affected the lives of several people, prompting them to engage in all forms of vices.

Why pledging state government’s support to the noble project, he commended the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, for his foresight and support towards the stemming of drugs abuse among the people.

The Deputy Governor stressed the need to employ the services of consultants and professionals to train the teachers who would train the drug addicts.

Responding, the Chairman of the Committee in charge of the Centre and the Magaji Are of Ilorin, Alhaji Shuaib Zubair thanked the state government for identifying with the project.

Earlier, the Secretary of the Committee, Mr Femi Oyebode, had explained that the facilities would have Information and Communication Technology Centre, Vocational and Training Centre, Lecture rooms and Clinic among others.
