Kwara: Dep Gov says govt will explore alternative source of energy

Kwara State government is to explore alternative source of energy to solve the power problem facing the State.

State Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi disclosed this on Wednesday in Ilorin while receiving Executives of the State Chapter, Nigeria Union of Tailors led by its Acting President, Mallam Yinusa Alamu in his office.

Alabi, who explained that government would look into the possibility of making use of the abundant solar energy to generate power for the benefit of the people, assured the union of due attention to enable them function effectively.

On the issue of their pleas for reduction of tax, he noted that tax is being collected to provide infrastructure and make life better for the citizenry.

Earlier, the Acting President of the Union, Mallam Yinusa Alamu , had pledged their support to the government and called on it to look into the possibility of reducing the tax currently being paid by its members.
