Kwara State Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi says the present administration will work assiduously to ensure the development and progress of the State.
Mr Alabi stated this on Sunday at a thanksgiving service held at First ECWA, Oro-Ago and the 2019 ECWA Oro-Ago District Church Council Convention and fund raising of N10m for its Secretariat.
The Deputy Governor, who said their administration would not engage in financial recklessness, stated that the cardinal focus of the government would be to ensure an all round development and progress of the State, while urging the people to support the government with prayers to succeed.
He pledged that the deplorable roads across the State would be given attention while all the water works would be repaired.
In his message, Pastor Sunday David Awokoya charged Christians to play significant role in the spread of the Gospel and the building of the temple.
Speaking on the theme “Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build this house” taken from the book of Haggai 1.8, Pastor Awokoya noted that nothing is too small to contribute for the building of the House of the Lord.

called on wealthy individuals from Oro land to let their impact be felt and ensure the early completion of the Secretariat.
He implored those in the Diaspora to come home and invest in the State to ensure its socioeconomic and industrial development.
Pastor Awokoya prayed for the success of the present administration, and admonished it to be upright and fight corruption that has crippled the economy of the State and the nation at large, while also urging government to address holistically the bad road network in the area and the State generally.
He called on the people to cooperate with the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq led government to succeed in the task of making the State great.
The Oloro of Oro-Ago, Oba Johnson Olanrewaju Dada in his message pledged the support of his people to the present administration and prayed that God would use the Governor and his deputy positively for the progress and the development of the State.
Oba Dada called on indigenes of the town to come home and invest to ensure the development of the ancient town.
The President of Oro-Ago Development Union, Engineer Tunji Kadir later presented Holy Bible to the Deputy Governor on behalf of the Community.
The thanksgiving and Convention was attended by the former Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Chief Joel Ogundeji, traditional rulers from Kwara South Senatorial District led by the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti, eminent personalities and indigenes Oro-Ago among others.
