A governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Waziri Yakubu Gobir has collected his nomination form to contest for the position of Governor of Kwara State during the 2019 elections.

He collected the nomination form on Friday in Abuja at the APC National Secretariat in company of some of his supporters and party stakeholders.

In an interview with journalists in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, the Ilorin-born Wazirin Hausa said he was determined, if voted for, to liberate the people of Kwara State from the unnecessary poverty and hardship they are presently experiencing, adding that as an accomplished social entrepreneur he would reduce the high level of unemployment among the youth.

Waziri Yakubu Gobir assured workers that payment of their salaries and matters concerning pensioners would be given top priority under his administration.
Market women and men, he assured, would be encouraged and empowered.

The APC aspirant announced that he would soon formally declare his intention to contest at a public rally in Ilorin and commended all his supporters, well wishers and elders of the party for their support so far. Gobir pledged not to disappoint the people of the state if voted for during the 2019 governorship election.
