The Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed has commended royal fathers in Kwara North Senatorial district for maintaining peace and harmony in the zone and the state at large.

Governor Ahmed gave this commendation on Tuesday when he hosted the royal fathers at the Government House, Ilorin.

According to Gov Ahmed, the royal fathers are playing critical roles in stabilising the zone as well as ensuring success of the governmen’s programmes and policies in the region.

Governor Ahmed urged the Nigeria Police to do more in tackling various security challenges across the country by collaborating more with the traditional rulers whom he said are custodians of values and traditions of the various communities rather than playing politics with the lives of the people.

The governor promised the police and other security agencies in the state more support in ensuring that the people of the state are well protected.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, the Etsu Pategi, Alhaji Ibrahim Chatta Umar commended Governor Ahmed for always consulting with the royal fathers on policies and programmes of his administration.

Alhaji Chatta pledged their people’s unalloyed support and commitment to the progress and development of the state.
