The Speaker, Kwara state House of Assembly, Hon. Salihu Yakubu Danladi, has expressed sadness over the death of Alhaji Umaru Kotosi, who was the All Progressives Congress (APC) Ward Chairman of Gwanara in Baruten local government area of Kwara state.

In a statement personally signed by him, Danladi described Alh. Kotosi as a loyal, committed and dedicated party man, who laboured hard for the liberation of Kwara state and did his best to support the present government in delivering on its electoral promises.

He said: “I am saddened with the news of the demise of the party Chairman of my ward, Gwanara. It is a personal and great loss to me, Alh. Kotosi is more than a loyal party man, but a patriotic Kwaran who lived and ended his life promoting party cohesion and pursuing the cause of a better Kwara that works for all.

“As tragic as this appeared to me, the people of Gwanara Emirate, Baruten local government and Kwara state APC family, we are taking solace in the fact that Allah is the ultimate Giver and Taker of life and the belief that He took his life at His destined and best time.

“We pray for repose of his soul and fortitude for us all to bear the loss. We also pray others who sustained injuries in the accident that claimed our brother’s life recover quickly.”

Alh. Umaru Kotosi lost his life in an auto crash along Kosubosu – Okuta road, while returning from a Kwara North Senatorial Empowerment program held at Kosubosu. His remains would be buried tomorrow in his home town, Gwanara according to Islamic rites.
