The Kwara State Government has been urged to expedite action on the completion of its ongoing Trailer Park at Oko Olowo to permanently address indiscriminate parking of trucks within Ilorin metropolis.

This is part of the resolution of the House following a Matter of General Public Importance raised by a member representing Omupo Constituency, Hon. Mashood Bakare on indiscriminate parking of trailers at Dangote Flour Mill along Asa Dam Road in Ilorin, the state capital.

Reading the resolutions of the House, the Deputy Speaker, Chief Mathew Okedare, who presided over the Tuesday’s sitting, said the timely completion of the Trailer Park will not only restore sanity on roads in the metropolis, but also improve the revenue potential of the state.

The Legislature also enjoined the State Road Traffic Management Agency to address illegal parking of lorries on roads, especially along Asa Dam and Coca- Cola roads to fast track vehicular movements on roads within the state capital.

The House has also directed its Committee on Energy, Works and Transport to inspect the deplorable Ayaba road off Anilelerin and Olugbense road in Offa and report findings to the House within two weeks for necessary legislative actions.

This followed a Matter of Urgent Public Importance raised by a member representing Essay/Shawl Igboidun Constituency, Hon. Hassan Oyeleke on the pathetic state of the two roads and efforts made by Offa Community to ameliorate the poor state of the roads to no avail.

Meanwhile, a Bill for a law for the establishment and composition of Customary Court of Appeal in Kwara State passed through first reading just as the Deputy Speaker directed the Committee on Rules and Business, to slate the bill for further legislative processing.
