National Fistula center Ningi repairs 1000 VVF patients.

The National Obstetrics Fistula Center Ningi has repaired 1000 patients of Vescular Vaginal Fistula (VVF) patients from 2016 to 2017
The Medical Director of the Center Dr Umar Nasiru Ibrahim stated this recently during the commemoration day of 2017 world international day to end obstetrics Fistula at the Center in Ningi Bauchi state.
According to him, since the inception of the center and taken over by the Federal Government the center repaired over 1000 patients from various state of  North East and neighbouring country Cameroon, with 80 percent success.
He said “the whole world have 2-3 million cases of VVF and 12000 cases yearly in Nigeria therefore something need to done avert the prevailing situation in the country”
“The case of VVF resulted from child birth and is preventable by constantly going for antenatal, given birth at the hospital”
Dr Nasiru said the Center provides free treatment and feeding to the patient and possibly provides skill acquisition after treatment to fight poverty.
 
“The center also create awareness in the North East states to always educate the public on the need to rush to the center for treatment of VVF patients” He said
In his remark Dr Lamara Dattijo head of clinical services in the center said the center received patients across the Northern state.
He said the Center and the patients need supply of consumables goods and drugs.
