New Kwara CP Admonishes Politicians To Play By The Rules

The new Commissioner of Police in Kwara state, Bolaji Fafowora, has allayed fears that he was posted to do the bidding of any political party in the state in the forthcoming 2019 general elections.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin on Tuesday, the new police boss said that his posting was part of routine posting which only coincided with election period.

Fafowora, who said that he might even be redeployed before the election or when electioneering fully commences, assured the people that the police would on its part remain diligent and apolitical in the discharge of its professional duties to ensure the maintainance of law and order all through the periods of the elections.

He said the police would not shirk from its responsibilities but handle every situation professionally during the periods without fear or favour.

He also advised politicians in the state to play by the rules of the game as they engage in electioneering towards 2019 elections.

He said if politicians played by the rules of the game, the electioneering and the elections proper would hardly attract rancour, violence and other undesirable developments that could mar the exercises.
