The Secretary of New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP Bauchi State Chapter, Alhaji Mahmood Baba Maaji has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the party’s Local Government Congress elections saying it is the first step towards defeating APC in the state.

Baba Maaji who stated this while addressing journalists after collation of results from the 20 Local Government Areas of the state expressed satisfaction over the peaceful conduct of the election.

Mahmood said “NNPP is well organized party that is youth driven, that cares for peoples’ welfare and is a structure based party that is capable of removing the incumbent government.”

He said “we have the confidence of the people and  that is why you see people trooping into the party on daily basis, so we are prepared to take over government come 2019 Insha Allah”

The NNPP Secretary in Bauchi commended stakeholders, supporters and congress committee members  for the conduct of successful congress in 20 LGAs.

Meanwhile the Secretary of the Congress Committee, Alhaji Yahaya Mohammed confirmed that the election was conducted in peaceful manner void of rancor, saying the exercise was successfully conducted in the 20 LGAs.

According to him, the local government congress was held in 20 LGA of Bauchi State which was also free and fair.

He said the committee was ready to receive any complaints and petitions in respect of the LG congresses to give fair hearing to all supporters.

“Our party doesn’t support anointing or appointing people to lead, leaders will come through election, members should vote and be voted for”, he said.

He said very soon ward congresses would be conducted in the 356 wards of the state which he hoped would also be peaceful free and fair.
