Our administration will lead by example, says Kwara Deputy Governor

By Steve Oni, Ilorin

Kwara State Deputy Governor Kayode Alabi says the present administration under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq will lead by example for others to emulate.

Mr Alabi, who made the promise in Ilorin on Thursday while playing host to the Executives of ECWA IDCC led by its Chairman, Reverend John Sunday Owoeye, said government would be alive to its responsibilities and would not be involved in fraudulent spending and expenditure.

This, he explained, prompted decision of government not to prioritise the rehabilitation of the Government House and the Office of the Deputy Governor that would gulf over N700m in the face of other pressing needs of the people.

The Deputy Governor, who lambasted the past administration for large scale financial impropriety, called on the people to love one another and be contended with what they have and shun greed and avarice.

He urged Christian leaders to always pray for their leaders and also encourage their members to go into politics with the sole aim of salvaging not only the the state but also the nation at the back of their minds.

“I now understand the call when Pastors ask the Congregation to stand up and pray for our leaders”, he said, pointing out that religious leaders have greater role to play to change the mindsets of the citizenry.

Earlier the Chairman of ECWA IDCC, Reverend John Owoeye, had thanked God for the success recorded so far by the present administration urging them not to relent in bringing more succour to the people.

Reverend Owoeye assured the deputy governor that the Church would sustain its prayer for the government to succeed in the task ahead.
