PDP, SDP Members Defects To APC In Edo North

By Monday EBALU, Benin City
Hundred of defectors from the People’s Democratic Party and the Social Democratic Party have declared their support for Godwin Obaseki, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the September 10 Edo gubernatorial elections.
The defectors from Ibie, Okpella and Okpekpe made the declaration when Obaseki paid a visit to different wards in Etsako West and East Local Government Area of Edo state.
One of the defectors, Hon. Peter Okonoghe, Coordinator – Edo North People’s Forum and former member of the PDP, said he could no longer belong to a divided house where their priority is about sharing the people’s wealth.
Also speaking, Hassan Eragbe, who was former LGA secretary to SDP, said that the party is dead and can’t proffer solutions to the problems of the state, hence his support for the APC and Godwin Obaseki’s candidacy.
In Eragbe’s words, “The SDP is dead in Edo State; I was formerly in the party and I can assure you I have closed that chapter. Under the APC government, we have seen good roads, good schools and good governance, and we want it to continue with Obaseki as Governor.”
Speaking on behalf of Edo professionals from the area, an Etsako-based lawyer, Jafara Dugute stated, “We are not ingrates; we have seen what has happened in the last seven and half years. So the elites in this area have mandated me to assure you that we are coming home to vote Obaseki as our next governor because he is the brain box of the APC government today.”
“Obaseki is the road and we are going to support you to the end, we will mobilize our people to vote for APC and I can assure you that, by the special grace of God, we are going to deliver our wards 100 percent”.
