The seeming frosty relationship between Bauchi state Governor, Mohammed Abubakar and his deputy, Nuhu Gidado has finally caved in following reports that the deputy Governor has resigned with immediate effect.

Our correspondent reports that Mr Gidado gave a scanty reason for his reasons for resigning, to wit lack of assigned duties and relegation to the background in the scheme if things.

National Trail however learnt that his resignation may not be unconnected with a resolution by leaders of thought in Bauchi State to the effect that the deputy Governor should he groomed to take over, as the governor has become increasingly unpopular.

Sources from the meeting told our correspondent that Governor Abubajar may have gotten wind of the moves to replace him with his deputy, and has started plans to further estrange the deputy, thereby frustrating him out.

Our correspondent reports that in recent times, the deputy governor is seldom delegated to represent his boss, and was completely shut out in the just concluded party Congresses of the APC in the state.

The deputy was also consigned to the background during the recent state visit by President Muhamnadu Buhari, even as he was not allowed to produce delegates from his area for the Congresses.

Efforts to speak to the parties were not successful, but feelers indicate that, Nuhu Gidado may soon announce his plans to challenge his erstwhile boss for the office if the Governor of Bauchi state.
