Some residents of Ologbo community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government of Edo on Wednesday called on the State House of assembly to wade into the crisis threatening to destroy the community.
Mr Friday Osazuwa, who led protesters to the house alleged acts of killings and burning of property worth millions, were being orchestrated by some youths aided by internal collaborators in the community

Osazuwa said “the raging insecurity and bloodshed have been going on for about two weeks.
“We the Benin people leaving in Ologbo community are no longer safe; the community has been deserted following the killings and violence being perpetuated in the community.
“We are now afraid to go to our homes and schools in Ologbo as the community has been shut down because of the crisis.
According to him, we no longer go to the farms to cultivate our crops for fear of being killed.
“We are calling on the speaker and the state government to help secure the release of Mr Obasogie Osazuwa who is still in detention,” he said.
In his response, Mr Marcus Onobun, member representing Esan West, who addressed the protesters on behalf of the speaker, Francis Okiye urged them to be law abiding.
Onobun said the house would work with the security agencies to bring perpetrators to book.
“l encourage you to submit a petition to the house to enable the house attend to the matter urgently’’ he said.
