Saraki, Ahmed, Speaker Mourn Kawu Baraje’s Mother

President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has condoled with Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, and the entire Baraje family, on the death of their mother, Hajiya Aisha Omo Agba Baraje.

Similarly, the Kwara state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed and Speaker, Dr Ali Ahmad have commiserated with Baraje on the death of his mother.

Alhaja Ayisat Omo Agba Baraje died Wednesday’s night at the age of 96 and was buried the same day in accordance with Islamic rites.

The Senate President In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yusuph Olaniyonu, spoke glowingly of the Late Hajiya Baraje and stated that she has raised a family that has produced one of Nigeria’s finest patriots and committed professionals.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the family of Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje, and the entire Baraje family at this time, on the loss of their mother, the late Hajiya Aisha Omoagba Baraje.

“Hajiya Baraje lived a fulfilled life as a mother and wife, which is evident from the fact that she helped to raise one of Nigeria’s finest patriots and statesmen. She will be dearly missed.

“We pray that the Almighty Allah, who granted her a long and prosperous life, may bless, guide and continue to protect the family that she has left behind. We also pray, that the Almighty Allah in his infinite mercies and grace, grant her a place amongst the righteous ones in Al Jannah Firdaus. Amin”, Saraki stated.

In his own condolence message, Kwara state governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed described the death of Hajiya Aisha Omo Agba Baraje as a big loss and a difficult vacuum to fill.

In the message signed by his chief press secretary, AbduIwahab Oba, Gov Ahmed said the death of Hajiya Aisha “at a time when his son, Kawu Baraje, is leading a political reformation and realignment in the country is such a devastating and shocking news”.

“We are, however, consoled that the deceased lived a pious life worthy of emulation and also was survived by a son, among other children, who has shown uncommon commitment to the progress and development of the country with great sacrifices and dedication”, the governor said.

He admonished the family of the deceased, particularly Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje to see the death of Hajiya Aisha as an act of God while praying Allah to grant the deceased the best of paradise and grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Also, the Speaker of Kwara state House of Assembly, Dr Ali Ahmad described Hajia Ayisat’s death as sudden and painful.

Ahmad, in a condolence message signed by his SpecialAssistant on Media, Shuaib AbdulKadir described the Baraje’s Matriarch as a pious woman who used everything she had to promote Islam in her community positively.

He noted that the deceased lived a life worthy of emulation as evidently seen on how she nurtured Alhaji Kawu Baraje to a man he has become in life.

The Speaker said that having raised his son properly, Allah has made use of Alhaji Baraje to elevate the family’s name and make it a force to reckon with in Nigerian politics.

Ahmad, however, enjoined Baraje to take solace in the fact that his mother lived a very peaceful life and was a source of inspiration to many people
