Saraki Donates N5.7 M For Renovation Of Kwara NYSC Orientation Camp

The Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has donated N5.7 million to the National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC) in Kwara state for the renovation of some facilities at the Yikpata orientation camp in Edu local government area of the state.

Saraki, had during a condolence visit to Yikpata orientation camp when a youth corps member died in May, this year promised to assist NYSC in upgrading some facilities at the camp.

In fulfilment of his pledge, the Senate President on Tuesday presented a cheque of N5.7 m to the state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Toshin Ikupolati.

The Director General of ABS constituency office, Ilorin, Alh Musa Abdullahi presented the cheque to Mrs Ikupolati at a brief ceremony in his office.

Abdullahi said the money is meant for the renovation of four male and female hostels, renovation of clinic and supply of drugs at the NYSC camp.

” The Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki has approved the sum of N5.7 m for the renovation of four number hostels, clinic and supply of drugs at the Yikpata NYSC orientation camp.

” This is in fulfilment of the Senate President’s promise upon a request by the then NYSC state coordinator when Dr Bukola Saraki paid a sympathy visit to the camp over the death of a youth corps member on May, this year, ” the DG stated.

Responding, the state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Toshin Ikupolati thanked the Senate President for his kind gesture.

She promised that the money would be used for the purposes it was meant for.

” This is a very laudable gesture from the Senate President. This gesture is not meant only for Kwara youths but for the Nigerian youths as a whole. We thank him for his kind gesture and as well assure that the fund will be judiciously utilised for the intended purpises.,” Mrs Ikupolati stated.
