By Samuel Mesele
The President of Grassroot Frontiers Democratic Congress ,(GFDC) Barrister Atekojo Samson Usman has warned the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello not to meddle into the affairs of African Democratic Party (ADC)in the state.
The warning came on the heels of accusations from a group led by one Dr Usman Adeojo, insinuating that Hon.Abiodun Faleke, the running mate to Late Abubakar Audu in the 2015 general elections imposed the interim Chairman and other executive members on the party.
At a Press Conference held in Lokoja,Barrister Usman said the group (GFDC) which was formed to work for the success of ADC in the state in 2019 General elections, will not fold its arms and allow state government sponsored agents to destroy the party. He described the accusation of imposition as false and calculated attempt to tarnish the image of Hon.Faleke who according to him is not a member of ADC in the state and wondered how a non -member would impose executives members on the party.
Equally, Barrister Usman stated that the allegation of imposition of the interim Chairman of ADC,Comrade Daniel Issa levelled by the group was a figment of imagination of state government aids with the sole aim of causing division in order to destabilize the Party in the State.
According to him, the reaction of All Progressives Congress (APC) lead administration in the state to the successful inauguration of ADC interim Chairman, the massive acceptance and popularity of the party was borne out the determination of the state government to destabilize the party. He stated that the Party was ready to occupy the Lugard House come 2019.
He revealed that some elements who did not mean well for the state have made themselves available in the hands of APC lead administration in the state to cause division in the party pointing out it is the same set of people who see the party as the last option to achieve their political aspirations when the reality of failure of APC will be finally dawned on them.
He said’ we know that the ruling APC in Kogi State is jittery. How can some people complain that Hon Faleke who is not a member of ADC imposed Comrade Issa on the party in the state? My advice to them is that they should be preparing to leave Lugard House, the seat of power, in 2019 as the people of the state are tired of the misrule of APC administration in the state’.
Barrister Usman called on the electorate in the state to unite against the current administration in the state saying that APC days are numbered. He revealed that the group has commenced massive mobilization of the people into African Democratic Party ahead of 2019 general elections and hinted that the Executive Council of the Party in the state, local and wards levels will soon be inaugurated.
He reiterated the determination of the Party to wrestle power from the ruling APC administration in the state pointing out the party will win the bye-election into Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency whenever the election is conducted.
