Supreme Court Says Uba,Oduah, Others Remain Elected

The Supreme Court Today (Wednesday) ruled that Senators Andy Uba, Stella Oduah, all other lawmakers representing Anambra State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in the National Assembly as validly elected.
The ruling of the apex court followed request for an interpretation of its earlier judgment on the PDP leadership tussle in the state.
The court had in the judgment pronounced one of the factions as authentic, following which pressure was mounted on the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) to withdraw certificate of returns issued Uba, Oduah and others from the National Assembly for belonging to the faction that was pronounced illegal.
The Supreme Court however said that its earlier ruling had nothing to do with the validity, or otherwise of the federal legislators positions at the federal legislature.
It said the issue had been settled by the Elections Petitions Tribunal and the Court of Appeal
