There is palpable tension in Osun State following the declaration of the governorship election which held on Saturday inconclusive by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The declaration cut short the victory mood of the supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, whose party was leading by over 300 votes.
INEC said the total number of votes in areas where the election was cancelled was more than the difference between the party in lead and the runner up, and that, the cancelled votes make a huge difference in determining who wins.
The election umpire contended that by the close gap between the ODO and the APC candidate, there shall be a run off in the affected areas in a date to be announced soon.
This is even as the candidate of the PDP, Senator Adeleke has protested the declaration, accusing INEC and the ruling APC of plotting to manipulate the election in favour if the APC.
As it us, national Trail correspondent reports that security operatives gave been out on the red alert to forestall any possible violent protests.
