The House of Representatives has approved a significant increase to the 2024 budget, raising it from N28.777 trillion to N35.055 trillion.
This change follows the consideration of a report from the House Committee on Appropriation, which addressed President Bola Tinubu’s urgent request for a supplementary budget of approximately N6.2 trillion.
The Committee’s Chairman presented the report, highlighting the agreement between the House and Senate on the increase.
The amended bill authorizes the issuance of N35.055 trillion from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the Federation, marking a substantial expansion of the federal budget for 2024.
