Kadafur Takes Over As Acting Governor In Borno.

As Zulum Proceeds On 1 Month hajj Leave.

Borno state Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has transmitted a letter to the State House Of Assembly, notifying her of the transfer of power to his Deputy, Umar Usman Kadafur, as Acting Governor from June 10th, 2024.
Speaker of the Borno State House of Assemnly, Abduljarim Lawan read the letter during an emergency session on Friday, in which he confirmed the development.
According to the speaker, GovernorZulum acted in accordance with the provission of the 1999 constitution, as amended, which requires the necessary transfer of power in the event of the Governor staying away for long.
He explained that the Governor notified the Assembly of the transfer of authories to Umar Usman Kadafur, from the 10th of June to the 8th of July, 2024, during which time the Governor will be performing hajj.
The Assembly in session took notice of the Executive communication, before it also adjourned its own sitting to the 9th of July, 2024.
