Independence Day: Nigeria Will Overcome, Says Rev. Chris Okotie

As Nigeria marks its 64th Independence Day, Rev. Chris Okotie, the Shepherd Superintendent of the Household of God Church in Lagos, has encouraged citizens to strengthen their faith in God’s promises during this pivotal time.

In a press release issued on Monday and signed by his media adviser, Ladi Ayodeji, Okotie emphasized the importance of hope for a brighter future, asserting that God never abandons His people.

“These are perilous times,” Okotie stated. “Our faith in God must serve as the Gyrostat that keeps us steady as we navigate the turbulent waters of our complex reality.”

He further described Nigeria as a “client nation for God,” expressing confidence in the country’s prophetic destiny. “The sovereign oversight of Almighty God is assured. Nigeria is strong. Nigeria will survive,” Okotie asserted.

Okotie highlighted that Nigeria shares a unique relationship with God, urging citizens not to be discouraged by the nation’s current challenges.
