The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has suspended actress Halima Abubakar for allegedly feeding false information to bloggers. According to a statement released on Friday, the suspension follows a two-year investigation into her role in spreading unverified rumors, particularly concerning alleged extramarital affairs between actors and notable Nigerians.
The AGN also revealed that other female members are being investigated for similar allegations, including rumors involving Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The Guild has expressed concern over the impact of such rumors on the image of actors and the industry.
This suspension highlights AGN’s stance against the spread of misinformation within the entertainment sector.
