Akwa Ibom State Coalition Supports Orji Uzor Kalu for Senate Presidency
A group known as the Coalition for Better Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State chapter, has expressed its endorsement for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as the candidate for the 10th Senate President. In a letter addressed to the three senators-elect from Akwa Ibom State, including Senator Godswill Akpabio, the coalition urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the senators-elect to consider Kalu for the position.
The letter, signed by Solomon Akpan, highlighted stability, unity, experience, capacity, and national peace as the reasons for supporting Senator Kalu. The coalition emphasized its aim to provide unsolicited technical support and advice to assist President Tinubu in making decisions that promote healing, reconciliation, national unity, and peace.
The coalition congratulated the senators-elect on their election and expressed the belief that they would contribute to serving Nigerians effectively and fostering the country’s unity. With the National Assembly inauguration approaching, the coalition sought the support of the senators-elect to elect Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, a former governor of Abia State under the APC platform, as the Senate President.
The coalition viewed the call to elect Senator Kalu as a patriotic duty to stabilize Nigeria and facilitate the healing and restoration of peace in the South East region. They praised Senator Kalu as a seasoned politician with a deep understanding of the workings of the Senate and as an unwavering supporter of President Tinubu and the APC.
