Benue NYSC National Award Winners honours Dr. Mongol with Award of Excellence
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Benue Geo Mining Company Ltd, Dr. Erdoo Mongol, has been bestowed with an Award of Excellence by members of the Benue NYSC National Honours Award Winners.
The group awarded her during a courtesy visit to her office at BENCEDI, Makurdi.
The group, made up of Benue indigenes who served in various states across Nigeria and received national awards during their NYSC year, was led by their president, Mr. Sesugh Dominic Igbaato.
Our correspondent gathered that while speaking during the visit, Mr. Igbaato expressed deep appreciation to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for appointing one of their own to such a high position.
He also assured the group’s full support in any way possible to help move the state forward.
The group further encouraged Dr. Mongol to continue being a role model and to represent them well among her peers, saying she serves as an inspiration to younger members of the group.
In her response, Dr. Mongol thanked the award winners for the visit and their show of love.
She expressed gratitude for their effort to travel all the way from Abuja to see her and said she did not take their gesture for granted.
Sharing her NYSC experience in Rivers State back in 2008, Mongol encouraged the young professionals to stay focused on their dreams.
The MD/CEO assured them of her continued support and promised never to leave them behind.
She enjoined them to use their wealth of experience and expertise to contribute meaningfully to the overall growth of the state.
Investigations by Nigerian Concord Newspaper reveal that the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Shippers Council, Mr. Pius Akutah, has allegedly misappropriated public funds for a lavish lifestyle.
According to our findings, within months of assuming office, Akutah allegedly purchased a bulletproof SUV valued at approximately N850 million. In addition, he is reported to have acquired over twenty exotic SUVs for use as a convoy.
Akutah is also said to have acquired multiple high-value properties, including three in Abuja’s Maitama and Asokoro districts worth over N2 billion, and two in Lagos’ Banana Island valued at N1.8 billion. These acquisitions appear far beyond the scope of his official salary and allowances.
Further investigation suggests that Akutah may be using public funds to support political ambitions, including allegedly grooming militants across 23 local government areas in Benue State for a potential 2027 gubernatorial bid.
Staff of the Shippers Council reportedly claim that Akutah frequently accesses the council’s treasury without proper authorization. Some insiders have indicated that a petition will soon be filed with the EFCC, ICPC, and the Presidency to report his alleged misconduct.
