“Ganduje’s Trial Delayed as Kano State Government Fails to Serve Charges”

The anticipated arraignment of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, along with his wife, son, and five others, at the Kano State High Court was postponed due to the failure of the Kano State government to serve criminal charges.

The absence of Ganduje and the other respondents in court on Wednesday halted proceedings before Justice Usman Malam Na’abba. Only the counsel representing the 6th respondent was present, while others were conspicuously absent.

The counsel for the Kano State government informed the court of their inability to personally serve the respondents. Attempts to move an ex parte motion application for substituted service were met with objections from the counsel representing the 6th respondent, who emphasized the need for proper legal procedures.

In response, Justice Na’abba adjourned the matter to April 29, 2024, for further proceedings.

The case stems from allegations of bribery and corruption leveled against Ganduje, his wife, son, and others by the Kano State government. However, the delay in serving the charges highlights the complexities involved in legal proceedings of this nature.
