Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has presented before the state Gov. Uba Presents Over N458 Billion As 2024 Budget

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has presented before the state legislature the 2024 budget.
This is even as he said it is the first budget of his administration through which he will move decisively to fulfil the promises he has made to the good people of Kaduna State.
Presenting the budget, Governor Uba said his administration is anchored on 7 pillars namely, Safety and Security, Upgrade of Infrastructure, Strengthening Institutions, Trade and Investment, Agriculture, Investment in Human Capital, and Nurturing Citizens Engagement.
While saying that the the central policy thrust of their administration is Rural Transformation, he added that they are committed to revitalizing the rural economies through massive infrastructural development.
According to the Governor, the estimate of the proposed 2024 “Budget of Rural Transformation for Inclusive Development”, has a total budget size of N458,271,299,477.66, of which N318,836,576,588.28 is Capital Expenditure and N139,434,722,889.38 is Recurrent expenditure, representing a capital to recurrent ratio of 69.57% to 30.43%
The health sector in the 2024 budget estimate was allocated with monies lesser than that of education in the sum of N53,137,528,133.9, and the sum of N82,554,445,158.65 respectively.
While Agriculture has N22,549,870,035.10, Public Works and Infrastructure and Internally Generated Revenue stand at
57,131,513,937.34 and 120,001,818,558.44 respectively.
While saying that this is a budget like no other because It is a Life Transforming Budget, he explained further that the budget is based on adjusting the size of the budget to conform with realizable revenues in view of current economic realities.
It is also focused on providing funds for ongoing projects and inherited capital liabilities while embarking on new priority projects within the multi-year time-frame of 2024-2026 as well as Improving the internal revenue generation and revenue collection capacity of the relevant State agencies.” He said.
