Hajara Muhammad Confirmed as Chairperson of KADSIECOM by Kaduna Assembly

The Kaduna State House of Assembly has confirmed Hajara Muhammad as the new chairperson of the State Independent Electoral Commission (KADSIECOM).

In addition to Muhammad’s confirmation, the House also confirmed the appointments of Noel Haruna and Fatima Kera as permanent commissioners of the commission. Muhammad’s appointment as chairperson was initiated by Governor Uba Sani.

Hajara Muhammad has been a part of KADSIECOM since 2002. She earned her Higher National Diploma (HND) in Tourism from Kaduna Polytechnic in 1999 and later obtained a postgraduate diploma in International Studies and Diplomacy in 2004 from the same institution. She also holds a master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

After her confirmation, Muhammad expressed her commitment to enhancing the professionalism of the state’s electoral agency. She emphasized the importance of thorough training for ad hoc staff and improving the professionalism and transparency of the permanent staff.
